The Story
The Potions Cauldron is one of York’s most enchanting attractions—an immersive potion shop and magical drinks emporium located at the legendary 9¾ Shambles, often called “The real Diagon Alley.”
Steeped in 700 years of potion-making history, the shop celebrates the legacy of master potion maker Phileas Fry, who first brewed elixirs here in the 14th century. Today, visitors can explore sparkling cauldrons, bubbling brews, and a secret potion room that brings centuries of magical lore to life.
