Welcome to Hebden Tea Company
Tucked away on York’s world‑famous Shambles, Hebden Tea Company is a small, independent business with a giant passion for tea. We specialise in high‑quality teas from around the globe, offering one of the largest selections of loose‑leaf teas available anywhere.
Our story began in 2010 in the artistic Yorkshire town of Hebden Bridge, where we first opened our doors. Infused with the town’s bohemian, independent spirit, we quickly gained a reputation for sourcing the freshest, most exciting flavours. In 2011, we relocated to the historic Shambles in York, where we have continued to grow – but we’ve never lost our independent heart.
Today, we welcome tea lovers from all over the world to our two beautiful Shambles locations:
- Hebden Tea Shambles (21 Shambles)– Our original tea shop, perfect for browsing and buying loose‑leaf tea, teaware, and gifts.
- Hebden Tea Experience (20 Shambles)– Our dedicated tearoom, where you can sit down and enjoy a pot of tea alongside homemade cakes, scones, and light savoury bites.
We are proud to be a Travellers’ Choice award winner on Tripadvisor, consistently ranked within the top 10% of attractions worldwide
