The Story

Gert & Henry’s has long been one of York’s favourite spots for honest, hearty comfort food. Located in the bustling Shambles Market, our restaurant is known for serving generous portions, warm hospitality, and traditional flavours that bring people together.

We built our menu around dishes people truly love — golden Yorkshire puddings, loaded nachos, crisp fish and chips, creamy pasta bowls, and stacked brioche burgers made fresh to order. Every plate is prepared with care, using quality British ingredients and classic cooking methods that capture the spirit of real home-style food.
