The Story
The Cheesecake Guy brings authentically American, New York–style baked cheesecakes to the heart of York.
Inspired by a workplace potluck years ago, what began as a simple homemade cheesecake quickly became a local legend—friends and family refused to let him visit without bringing one.
Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, and born in New York, he moved to York in 2014 with his wife (a Yorkshire local) and their dogs. Baking runs in the family—his grandfather owned Sherry’s Bakery on 110th & Broadway in the 1960s–70s—so opening a cheesecake shop seems like destiny.
Today, every cheesecake is baked the traditional way (“the only way!”), using flavours inspired by American classics and nostalgic favourites.

All cheesecakes are baked fresh, must be refrigerated, and are best enjoyed within 5 days. They can also be frozen to extend shelf life.
