Roly’s Fudge Pantry York is located on The Shambles, one of the best-preserved Medieval streets in the world. The buildings surrounding the shop date back to the late 14th and 15th centuries, placing the pantry right in the heart of York’s rich historical landscape.

The York shop is part of the Roly’s Fudge family, with Greg also owning Roly’s Fudge Bakewell and Roly’s Fudge Liverpool, opened in 2014 and 2018. The Shambles shop carries unique historical elements, including two original meat hooks still visible inside. There is also an interesting local belief that a stairwell behind the shop once led to a pub beneath the building—though it has yet to be rediscovered.

This pantry focuses on producing fresh, traditional fudge daily, cooked in copper pans and poured onto marble slabs. Visitors can watch the process from the window or step inside to enjoy free tasters.

York has long been known for its connection to railways and confectionery, making Roly’s Fudge a fitting part of the city’s heritage.
