The Story
Shambles Kitchen is an independent street-food spot on York’s iconic Shambles, known for slow-smoked Yorkshire meats, bold flavours, and freshly made shawarma. Every sandwich is inspired by legendary local figures, prepared with artisan bread, homemade sauces, and ingredients smoked behind the shop.
With extra seating now available inside St Crux Church, customers can enjoy delicious food in one of York’s most historic spaces, supported by the wonderful York BID community.
WHAT HE SERVE
At Shambles Kitchen, we specialise in house-smoked meats, hearty sandwiches, fresh shawarma, and vegan-friendly alternatives. Our menu brings big flavours, using top-quality Yorkshire ingredients, slow-smoked brisket, pulled pork, pastrami, beef barbacoa, and Lebanese-style chicken shawarma.
We also offer vegan shawarma, artisan focaccia buns, warm rye rolls, homemade sauces, and gluten-free options at our Smokehouse Burrito stall behind the main shop.
